These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Maplr.
March 24, 2026
By using Maplr, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Maplr, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all visitors, account holders, and anyone accessing the service on behalf of a business.
2. Description of Service
Maplr is a Canadian software-as-a-service platform that helps businesses create invoices, manage clients, and track GST/HST, PST, and QST related information. The service provides tools and calculations for convenience only and does not constitute accounting, legal, or tax advice. You are responsible for ensuring your invoices, tax filings, and business practices comply with Canadian law and applicable provincial rules. Maplr does not guarantee the accuracy of tax calculations or outputs and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You may not share accounts, resell access, or allow unauthorized users to access your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized access or security incident.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Maplr for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm the platform, its users, or its infrastructure. This includes, without limitation:
- attempting to exploit vulnerabilities or bypass security controls;
- reverse engineering, decompiling, or otherwise trying to access source code;
- using automated tools that degrade performance or disrupt service;
- misrepresenting yourself or your business; or
- accessing data that is not yours.
5. Payments & Billing (Stripe)
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize recurring billing according to your selected plan and billing cycle. You are responsible for keeping your payment method current. Unless required by law or explicitly stated in writing, payments are non-refundable and there are no partial refunds for unused time. Pricing and plan features may change with notice and will apply at the next billing cycle.
If a payment fails, Maplr may retry the charge and may downgrade or suspend paid features until payment is successful. Access to paid features is tied to an active billing status.
6. Subscription & Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account. Cancellation stops future renewals and you retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period. There are no partial or prorated refunds. Maplr may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these terms, abuse, fraud, non-payment, or activity that poses a security or legal risk.
7. Data & Invoices
You retain ownership of your data and content. By using Maplr, you grant us a limited right to store, process, and transmit your data to provide the service and improve platform performance. You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and compliance of the invoices you create, the tax rates you apply, and the records you maintain. Maplr is not responsible for errors in your invoices, missed payments, tax reporting mistakes, or compliance failures.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maplr is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data. Maplr is not liable for financial loss, tax errors, missed payments, incorrect invoices, or business interruption arising from your use of the service. In all cases, our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid to Maplr in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Maplr disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. You use the service at your own risk.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maplr, its affiliates, and team members from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice by posting the updated terms or through other reasonable means. Continued use of Maplr after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, without regard to conflict of law principles.
